Soaring

A short time ago I stood beside my car watching a hawk soaring overhead. While moving beautifully through the air he never flapped his wings a single time; he simply let the gentle breezes carry him quietly and effortlessly. I didn’t take my eyes off of him for nearly five minutes, all-the-while wondering what it must be like for him.


And then I began to wonder what it would be like for me, for us, to simply let go now and then and allow the gentle breezes of life to just move us along effortlessly rather than fighting every wind that comes our way.
